NBA Twitter reacts to Klay Thompson’s 42-point performance in Warriors’ win vs. Rockets

With Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins out in the second leg of a back-to-back against the Houston Rockets, the Klay Thompson show took over on Friday night. 

The veteran sharpshooting guard fueled a much-needed shorthanded win for the Warriors behind a fiery performance from beyond the arc. During the Warriors’ 116-101 win over the Rockets, Thompson buried a red-hot 12 triples from long distance. 

While torching the Rockets from deep, Thompson notched a game-high 42 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field to go along with seven rebounds and an assist in 36 minutes. Friday’s outburst marked the fourth time this season Thompson has recorded 40 or more points. 

As the Warriors cruised to a win over the Rockets, Donte DiVincenzo added 15 points with five made triples after registering a start in the backcourt with Curry out due to injury. 

Rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. added to Golden State’s hot shooting night with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field in 16 minutes off the bench on Friday night against the Rockets.
