NBA Twitter reacts to Joel Embiid lifting Sixers past Trail Blazers at home

The Philadelphia 76ers looked like they were in trouble on Friday night at home in their matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Sixers trailed by 21 points in the first half and the Blazers couldn’t miss from deep as they drilled 11 of their 19 triples in the first half.

Then, the Sixers dug deep and they were able to rally and walk away with a 120-119 win over the Blazers. Joel Embiid was the hero as he drilled the game-winning fadeaway jumper over Portland big man Jusuf Nurkic with 1.1 seconds left.

On the other end, Damian Lillard couldn’t get a clean shot off and the Sixers were able to get a big victory.

“He made a tough shot, man,” said Blazers coach Chauncey Billups. “We made him work for it. He went, we cut him off, he spins, I mean it was just a hell of a shot. He’s that type of player. You get those types of guys in those types of situations, I mean, you just want to try to get the last look, so my guy can do the same thing, but he just didn’t have that opportunity.”
