NBA Roundup: Kings suspend Cousins, Knicks' Wallace has stress facture
The Sacramento Kings on Saturday suspended center DeMarcus Cousins indefinitely for unprofessional behavior and conduct detrimental to the team. Cousins was banished to the locker room by coach Keith Smart for the second half of Friday night's 97-85 loss at the Los Angeles Clippers after an altercation between Smart and Cousins occurred at halftime. Cousins told the Sacramento Bee he "was in the wrong" during a halftime altercation with Smart. "I was wrong," Cousins said. "But what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room." Cousins is averaging a team-high 16.6 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
---The New York Knicks confirmed to ESPN New York on Saturday that power forward/center Rasheed Wallace has a stress fracture and a chronic condition in his left foot. Wallace was previously diagnosed with a sore foot. He is still considered day to day. The Knicks' backup center, Wallace has missed the last four games. The Knicks are particularly thin in the front court with Marcus Camby out with plantar fasciitis and Amar'e Stoudemire has not played all season, still recovering from left knee surgery. Stoudemire will not play Sunday against Minnesota, but will travel with the team on its next road trip.
---The Memphis Grizzlies recalled guard Josh Selby from the NBA Development League's Reno Bighorns, the team announced Saturday. Selby averaged 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists on 43.9 percent shooting in 34.0 minutes in two games for Reno. The second-round draft pick has played 15 minutes in five games for Memphis this season. Selby was slated to be active for Saturday night's game against the Houston Rockets.
