NBA Rookies of the Month: Chet Holmgren, Jaime Jaquez Jr. win for December

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Chet Holmgren and Miami Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. have been named the NBA Western and Eastern Conference Rookies of the Month for December.

Holmgren averaged 17.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.4 assists on 55.1% shooting from the field in 13 games in the month. He became the fourth player in franchise history to win the award multiple times after claiming it for October and November.

Jaquez won the award for the second consecutive time, averaging 16.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists on 48.1% shooting from the field. He produced a career-high 31 points and 10 rebounds on Christmas Day to become the fifth rookie to reach that mark on the holiday.

Keyonte George (Utah), Scoot Henderson (Portland), Dereck Lively II (Dallas) and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio) were also nominated for the award in the West. East nominees were Bilal Coulibaly (Washington), Brandon Miller (Charlotte) and Craig Porter Jr. (Cleveland).
