NBA DFS: It's worth paying up for Tyrese Haliburton on Wednesday

The NBA is hitting that time where trends are heating up and players are settling into their new teams post-trade deadline. After being traded, there are still a few players that sportsbooks and fantasy sites haven’t caught on to yet. It is one of the reasons I love this time of year in the league.

$36 IND G Tyrese Haliburton vs. ORL

Tyrese Haliburton was crushing it in assists with the Sacramento Kings to start the season. Since being traded to Indiana, he’s been even better. Haliburton is averaging 20 points and 10 assists as a Pacer. Orlando is bottom 10 in points, rebounds and assists allowed to their opponents. In the last 10 games against the Magic, lead guards are averaging 23.6 points per game. This includes Haliburton’s 23 points, five rebounds and seven assists in their last meeting.

$32 NOLA G CJ McCollum vs. SAC

One of the hottest players since the trade deadline has been Pelicans guard CJ McCollum. He’s averaging 28 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.6 assists since going to New Orleans. It’s a great matchup for McCollum since the Sacramento Kings are the second-worst defense in the NBA this season, allowing 115 points per game. He put up 34 points, six rebounds and five assists against the Kings in the first game of the season. It should be another great matchup for him Wednesday night.

$17 PHX SF Cameron Johnson vs. POR

Some players come out of the All-Star break sluggish, while others just start heating up. That’s what Cameron Johnson did for Phoenix. Since the break, Johnson is averaging 19.7 points per game. It’s a great spot up against the Portland Trail Blazers, who allow the sixth-most points per game to their opponents at 112.6 overall this season. Post-All-Star break, that average has skyrocketed to 128 points per game allowed by the Blazers. Ride the hot hand and put Johnson in your lineup as a $17 value play.
