National reaction to Texas' 40-14 win over Kansas: 'Jonathon Brooks for president'

Texas got revenge for its 2021 loss to Kansas at home with a 40-14 thrashing of the Jayhawks on Saturday.

The running game proved dominant, with Jonathon Brooks setting a career high in yards with 217 and two touchdowns and C.J. Baxter adding on 70 yards. Brooks alone had more yards than Kansas' offense overall, who were stifled by a stingy UT defense that held them to one passing touchdown by backup Jason Bean and a bizarre fumble-turned touchdown run by Daniel Hishaw.

Quarterback Quinn Ewers' interception-less streak came to an end at 245 consecutive passes, but he still threw for 325 yards. In addition, he ran for a score and connected with Adonai Mitchell for 141 yards, 10 catches and a touchdown, a career day for the wideout.
