Nashville Predators fall to Boston Bruins: Here's what happened in 3-2 loss

The Nashville Predators returned to the road to face the Boston Bruins on Saturday inside the TD Garden.

They left 3-2 losers thanks to a pair of power-play goals and a penalty shot goal by the Bruins.

James van Riemsdyk scored two power-play goals for the Boston.

Colton Sissons scored twice for the Predators.

The Preds won 3-0 over the Kraken in the home opener on Thursday but fell to 2-1 Saturday..The Bruins won 3-1 against Chicago on Wednesday and improved to 2-0 Thursday.

Nashville bounces between home and road games through next Saturday before a three-game homestand beginning on Oct. 21.

Power-play goal in third puts Bruins up 3-2

James van Riemsdyk's second power-play goal of the game with 17:08 left in the second put the Bruins ahead.

Colton Sissons' second goal of game makes it 2-2 after two

Sissons' third goal of the season and second of the game came on tip-in during a delayed penalty with 3:04 remaining in second on Roman Josi's shot. It was Josi's first assist of the season. Filip Forsberg picked up his third assist of the season on the play.

David Pastrnak scores on penalty shot to give Bruins 2-1 lead in second

Pastranak's shot came after Alexandre Carrier was called for holding the stick with 5:04 left in the second.

Cross-check from Brad Marchand sends Predators' Gustav Nyquist out of game in second

Forward Gustav Nyquist left the game during the second period after taking a cross-check from the Bruins' Brad Marchand. He later returned.

Four-minute power play a no-go for Predators

The Predators failed to score on four-minute power play early in the second period after Roman Josi took a high stick to the face.

Predators, Bruins tied 1-1 after one period

James van Riemsdyk's rifled a wrist shot past Juuse Saros during a power play with 5:04 left in the first to knot the score 1-1. Saros followed a few minutes later with consecutive highlight-reel saves. The Predators were 0-for-3 on the power play during the period.

Colton Sissons puts Predators ahead 1-0 early

The Nashville Predators went with the same lineup Thursday against the Bruins that they used Tuesday during their victory against the Seattle Kraken.

Colton Sissons' goal 3 minutes, 29 seconds into the first period gave the Predators a 1-0 lead. It was Sissons' second goal in two games. Kiefer Sherwood and Tyson Barrie each picked up their first assist of the season on the score.
