Asheli Freed named Mount Union women's soccer head coach

Ashlei Freed is Mount Union's new women's soccer head coach.

Freed spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the Purple Raiders. She also was an assistant for one year at Glenville State.

"Asheli has been such a positive and steady contributor to the program since her arrival in 2021," Mount Union Athletic Director Mike Parnell said in a statement. "Promoting her into the role of head coach was well deserved based on her commitment over the past two years."

Freed played four seasons at Davis & Elkins. She helped lead the Senators to the 2016 Great Midwest Athletic Conference title and an NCAA Division II Tournament berth as a freshman. Over the next three seasons, she led her team in goals and assists.
