Moses Brown signs multi-year contract with Thunder
It didn’t take Moses Brown long to play his way out of his two-way contract status with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
On Sunday, the organization announced that Brown and the Thunder had agreed to a multi-year contract. Perhaps not coincidentally, this came the day after Brown posted 21 points and 23 rebounds against the Boston Celtics.
Terms of the deal were not officially announced, but ESPN’s Royce Young reported that it is for $6.8 million over four years. The second and third years of the deal are not guaranteed, according to Young, and there is a team option on the fourth year.
Brown appeared in seven games for the Thunder earlier this season before going to the G League bubble to play for the OKC Blue. He broke out there, being named to the All-NBA G League First-Team and the Defensive Team.
He has not slowed down since returning to the Thunder during the All-Star break. Since coming back to Oklahoma City, Brown has averaged 12.4 points, 12.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 27.7 minutes per game. He has grabbed at least five offensive boards in five of the nine games.
With Al Horford shut down, Brown will have more time on the court and can be expected to start the majority of games going forward this season.
