Monroe QB throws 7 TD passes, second most in state history: Section V's top performances Saturday

Here are the top performances from the Section V football games played on Saturday:

John Ahrens, Brighton: Intercepted a pass and caught four passes for 51 yards during a 32-31 loss in overtime to McQuaid.

Robert Arnold, Monroe: Forced a fumble and made eight tackles, including two sacks and Jahcure Maxam finished with eight tackles, including a sack, a forced fumble and fumble recovery during a 48-0 win at Wayne.

Marcus Asberry, Lyons/Sodus: Had a touchdown reception and rushed for a touchdown while he finished with 98 yards on three receptions and rushed for 52 yards on seven carries during a 26-21 win over Bath Haverling.

Dakari Buchanan, Edison Tech merged: Caught eight passes for 138 yards and a touchdown during a 33-25 loss to Rush-Henrietta. He also made eight tackles.

Amari Colon, Monroe: Caught two touchdown passes, had three catches for 50 yards overall, returned a punt 47 yards and intercepted two passes during a 48-0 win at Wayne.

Clayton Bezon, Attica/Alexander: Made 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks during a 49-0 win over Penn Yan/Dundee.

Marquan Grimes, Edison Tech merged: Caught six passes for 90 yards during a 33-25 loss to Rush-Henrietta. Riley Burks and Victor Guminski each caught a touchdown.

Messiah Hampton, Monroe: Caught three touchdown passes and finished with five catches for 70 yards overall during a 48-0 win at Wayne.

Case Hill, Attica/Alexander: Recorded 11 tackles during a 49-0 win over Penn Yan/Dundee. Robert Becker made 10 tackles and recovered a fumble.

Matthew Heininger, Brighton: Finished with a 25-yard touchdown reception and made seven tackles, two for a loss as the Bruins lost 32-31 in overtime to McQuaid.

Kieran Hughes, Brighton: Caught a pass for a touchdown and finished with four receptions for 51 yards overall during a 32-31 loss in overtime to McQuaid. He also made five tackles and deflected two passes as a defensive player.

Anthony Johnson, Edison Tech merged: Threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns during a 33-25 loss to Rush-Henrietta. He also rushed for 44 yards and made four tackles.

Jamire Johnson, Lyons/Sodus: Made eight solo tackles, assisted on three others and forced a fumble during a 26-21 win over Bath Haverling.

Brendan Mangone, Rush-Henrietta: Rushed three times for 96 yards and an 88-yard touchdown during a 33-25 win over Edison Tech merged.

Tyler Marino, Attica/Alexander: Rushed eight times for 69 yards and a three-yard touchdown during a 49-0 win over Penn Yan/Dundee.

Tyler Martinovich, Brighton: Tossed two touchdown passes and completed 12 of 19 attempts with one interception overall during a 32-31 loss in overtime to McQuaid. He also rushed for a touchdown.

Styhles McKenzie-Baker, Monroe: Intercepted two passes to help the Red Jackets defeat Wayne 48-0.

Landon McKnight, Monroe: Caught two touchdowns as he finished with three receptions for 55 yards during a 48-0 win at Wayne.

Matt Meacham, Honeoye Falls-Lima: Threw a touchdown pass to Andrew Wanzenried and Keaton Yates as he finished 12 of 18 for 152 yards and rushed for a touchdown while the Cougars defeated Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton 32-3.

Khaya Moses, Monroe: Entered the Section V and state record book with seven touchdown passes during a 48-0 win at Wayne. Moses' single game touchdown total is tied for second-most in a section or New York state game. He also completed 11 of 22 passes for 175 yards.

Nasir Patton, Rush-Henrietta: Caught four passes for 104 yards during a 33-25 win over Edison Tech merged.

Gavin Parks, Brighton: Scored a touchdown as he gained 100 yards on 22 carries during a 32-31 loss in overtime to McQuaid.

Jihad Perry, Rush-Henrietta: Rushed seven times for 145 yards and touchdowns of 18, 4 and 94 yards during a 33-25 win over Edison Tech merged.

Stefonn Pinkston, Lyons/Sodus: Scored two rushing touchdowns as he gained 136 yards on 25 carries during a 26-21 win over Bath Haverling.

Xavier Praylor, Geneva: Rushed 22 times for 135 yards and a touchdown during a 12-6 triple overtime loss to Vertus. He also completed 4 of 8 passes for 63 yards.

Joe Salone, Geneva: The linebacker made 10 tackles, one for a loss, and had a sack and recovered a fumble during a 12-6 triple overtime loss to Vertus.

Jarvis Seymore, Edison Tech merged: Made 10 tackles during a 33-25 loss to Rush-Henrietta.

Sam Strezlec, Attica/Alexander: Rushed for 53 yards and scored a 39-yard touchdown during a 49-0 win over Penn Yan/Dundee. Trent Woods scored a two-yard touchdown.

Landyn Thomas, Attica/Alexander: Rushed 13 times for 140 yards and touchdowns of 10, 9 and 10 yards during a 49-0 win over Penn Yan/Dundee. Levi Pearl scored a 17-yard touchdown.

Gianni Velazquez, Geneva: The linebacker made 20 tackles, four for losses, during a 12-6 triple overtime loss to Vertus. He also had a sack, forced a fumble and deflected a pass.

Imani Wagstaff, Rush-Henrietta: Rushed eight times for 94 yards and a 60-yard touchdown during a 33-25 win over Edison Tech merged.

Devyn Williams. Lyons/Sodus: Intercepted a pass that sealed the team's 26-21 win over Bath Haverling and finished with four tackles.

Nazhier Wilson, Monroe: Made 13 tackles, Amarie Thompson 10, including a quarterback sack, and Dashon Constantine eight, during a 48-0 win at Wayne.
