"I thought we played pretty well today. The first match of the season always presents its own challenges, especially when it's against a rival. We seemed to settle in as the match went on which I was very happy about. Holland Christian is a strong team and for us to be right there with them, says a lot about what our team is capable of this season. There are a lot of positives that we'll take away from today," Holland coach Kyle Kreps said. "Ahava played a solid match today. Lilly is a great player and Ahava knew she'd have to play a quality match. I was pleased with the way she responding after losing a few points or a game here and there. Her focus throughout the match was excellent.

"This is a great win for Claudia and Amaya. They only started playing together yesterday, so to pull out a tough 6-4, 6-4 win says a lot about their resolve and what they're capable of this season."
