A pilot and his passenger remained hospitalized Tuesday after their Cessna Skyhawk crashed in the parking lot of the Ellet Community Center around 7 p.m. Monday.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Ray Santiago said the the crash remains under investigation.

The pilot has been identified as Kenneth A. Jones, 71, of Mogadore, and the sole passenger was Lisa K. Baum, 63, Uniontown.

Both were taken to Summa Akron City Hospital after the crash where they are listed in serious but stable condition.

Santiago said the preliminary investigation shows the plane departed Chambers Airport in Tunkannock, Pennsylvania, around 4:30 p.m. with an anticipated arrival of 7 p.m. at the Akron Executive Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration arrived at the crash site Tuesday morning to begin its investigation into a possible cause of the crash.
