STARKVILLE — Mississippi State women's basketball will be part of a premier matchup in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge. MSU, led by coach Sam Purcell, faces Miami on Wednesday at Humphrey Coliseum.
The Hurricanes (5-0) are coming off their first trip to the Elite Eight in program history while the Bulldogs, ranked No. 21 in the latest AP Top 25, are coming off a second round exit in the NCAA Tournament.
Mississippi State (8-0) capped its undefeated start to the season on Sunday with a Van Chancellor Classic title in Katy, Texas. MSU defeated Clemson, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Tulsa on the trip. The Bulldogs were without Purcell (illness) and forward Jessika Carter (injury) in the finale.

Miami is also off to a strong start which includes a pair of wins in last week's Miami Thanksgiving Tournament. The Hurricanes, led by coach Katie Meier, have yet to play a Power Five opponent this season.
