Miles Sanders sits out Saturday’s practice with ‘tweak of something’

What was presumed to be a vet day this morning for Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders turned out to be a tad more worrisome.

After Saturday’s outing of training camp, head coach Frank Reich was asked about the status of Sanders and safety Vonn Bell—both of whom did not participate in team drills. While Bell was, in fact, catching up on some maintenance, the 26-year-old back was seemingly catch up on an injury.

“Sanders did individual and had a little tweak of something,” Reich replied. “And then so we just talked about him, we said, ‘Let’s just take him out of team.’ I think he’s fine, but let’s just be precautionary.”

Reich was not able to disclose which body part that tweak popped up on. He said he has yet to meet with the training staff in regards to Sanders’ seemingly minor setback.

Sanders, who is expected to be a three-down rusher for Carolina this season, played in each of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 20 games in 2022.
