Michigan Athletics sets COVID-19 vaccine, testing policy for indoor sporting events

Michigan Athletics announced Saturday a new COVID-19 vaccination/testing policy for indoor sports is effective immediately.

All employees and fan12 and older at Wolverines home games will need proof of a coronavirus vaccination or a negative test result within 72 hours of the event. Those without either will not to allowed to enter games, such as those at Crisler Center, and results from home testing kits will not be accepted.

"This is in response to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases throughout the region," reads a news release from Michigan. "Face masks continue to be required and must be worn during all home indoor athletic events. ...

"A printed or digital negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid test administered by a healthcare professional within 72 hours of the event that includes the guest's name and date the last test was administered."
