Michael Carter-Williams scores 20, 76ers pull out a close one against Heat

The Miami Heat handed out only 13 assists and turned it over 20 times in a sloppy outing that resulted in a 91-87 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. This is the second win in as many games for Philadelphia (4-23) after beating Orlando on Sunday.

Michael Carter-Williams put up 20 points on 9-18 shooting, including 2-4 on 3-point attempts. He also tallied five assists and three rebounds. Other key performers for Philadelphia were Luc Mbah a Moute with 19 points and six rebounds, and Jerami Grant with 11 points and seven rebounds. On 9-21 shooting, Dwyane Wade scored 23 points for Miami in the loss.

The Heat had 13 assists against 20 turnovers for a ratio of .65. This year, they are winless (0-4) when having more turnovers than assists in a game. Conversely, the 76ers are 2-3 when holding their opponents below an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.00.

This drops Miami (13-16) to 1-1 against Philadelphia on the year.

Coming up, the 76ers take on the Portland Trail Blazers, who are 22-7 on the season. The Heat match up against the Cleveland Cavaliers, currently sitting at 17-10 this year. The 76ers have a 0-1 record against Portland this season.
