Every year there is always that one player that breaks out and takes it to the next level. We as Miami Dolphins’ fans hope it’ll be Ryan Tannehill, but I feel like there’s another player who will emerge and show everyone what he’s made of this season.

During the offseason, the Miami Dolphins have cleaned house more or less as far as coaching is concerned and brought in some more respectable coaches. On the defense side of the ball, the Miami Dolphins have hired Vance Joseph, who vows to bring a more physical type of defense to make opposing offenses respect and fear the teams defense.

Tony Lippett will be entering his second year in the NFL this season and I have a feeling he’ll be my breakout player for the Phins. Now I’m not saying he’ll be Richard Sherman by any means, but I feel with new defensive coordinator Vance Joseph will use Tony Lippett a lot more because of his size.

Lippett stands at 6’3 and offers the height and length that suits the model new defensive coordinator Vance Joseph likes to look for. Tony Lippett has even already said that “he’s getting more comfortable playing the press style that Joseph prefers”. I believe that Lippett can challenge second-round pick Xavien Howard in training camp for the second cornerback spot.

Patience is a virtue while with hard work comes great reward. Tom Brady was drafted in the sixth round in the 2000 NFL draft with the 199th pick. At the time, New England had Drew Bledsoe at the helm, but Tom Brady never gave up and worked hard each and every day.

I hope if Lippett can have Tom Brady’s work ethic and determination then that’s great. I’m not saying that Tony Lippett will be Tom Brady because Lippett at this point of his career can’t compare to Brady. However, I do feel that Lippett has something to prove just as Brady had something to prove to all 31 of the teams that passed up on him.
