Miami Dolphins predictions: Do any NFL experts pick the Jets to pull off another upset?

The Miami Dolphins suffered a setback in their quest to lock up the AFC East. Can they bounce back against the division rival New York Jets?

The bigger question facing Mike McDaniel and the Dolphins (9-4) is the health of star receiver Tyreek Hill. The NFL's leader in receiving yards injured his ankle in the first half of Monday's shocking 28-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Tua Tagovailoa and the usually high-flying offense struggled, with the team's only touchdowns coming off turnovers: a pick-six and two short fields that resulted in Raheem Mostert TDs. Hill was listed as day-to-day earlier this week; center Connor Williams is out for the season with a torn ACL.

The Jets (5-8) snapped a five-game losing skid by shutting down the Houston Texans 30-6. Zach Wilson is back as the starting quarterback, and he threw TD passes to Randall Cobb and Breece Hall as part of a 301-yard day. Quinnen Williams and the ferocious Jets defense sacked C.J. Stroud four times and has allowed just 19 points over the two games since their 34-13 Black Friday loss to the Dolphins.

Can Miami get back on track and finish a sweep of the Jets? Here's a look at what NFL experts and analysts are predicting:

Lorenzo Reyes, USA TODAY: Dolphins 23-17

"No team had a worse Week 14 than the Dolphins, who lost their claim to the AFC’s No. 1 seed and blew a 14-point lead inside the final two minutes to a team they were favored to beat. Miami should bounce back. Yes, the Jets were very good against Houston, but that might be more the exception than the norm. All that said, this line is still a bit too high. And Tyreek Hill’s injury could be a cause for concern."

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Dolphins 27-17

"The Jets were ripped in the first matchup, 34-13. They played some more inspired and impressive offense last week, however, with a revived Zach Wilson relying on his primary playmakers. Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and the running backs continue to give Tua Tagovailoa more explosiveness around him in relation to Wilson. The Jets are a little more competitive in the rematch for a back-door cover."

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Dolphins 24-20

"The Dolphins are coming off a brutal loss to the Titans Monday night in which they blew a late 14-point lead. The Jets beat up the Texans last week as Zach Wilson played well. The Dolphins beat the Jets a month ago, but this will be a lot tougher than that game. The Jets will hang around, but Miami wins it."

Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk: Dolphins 24-17

"Will Zack Wilson keep it close? The task becomes easier, if Tyreek Hill can’t go."

Maurice Moton, Bleacher Report: Dolphins 27-16

Six of the seven experts on the Bleacher Report panel went with Miami. (Wes O'Donnell was the lone Jets picker.)

"Keep in mind that the Dolphins field the second-ranked rushing offense and lead the league in rushing touchdowns (24) with running backs Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane both averaging five-plus yards per carry," Moton wrote. "Even without center Connor Williams (torn ACL), Miami should have some success on the ground.

"With a strong commitment to the run game, Miami can blow out Gang Green for the second time this season."

Safid Dean, USA TODAY: Dolphins 24-14

"Zach Wilson is coming off the best game of his career, while the Dolphins are coming off a blunder on Monday Night Football. The Dolphins need to show they can operate without depending solely on Tyreek Hill and should beat Wilson and the Jets at home."

Gennaro Filice, NFL.com: Dolphins 21-16

All five experts on the NFL.com panel picked Miami.

"Did Tyreek Hill actually strengthen his dark-horse MVP candidacy by missing half of this past Monday night's brutal loss with an ankle injury?" Filice wrote. "Miami's offense was stuck in the mud without 'Cheetah' roaming the field, underscoring the notion that the wideout is the true engine of the Dolphins' top-ranked attack. With a short turnaround before this week's divisional bout, will Hill be active on Sunday? And if so, will he be compromised?

"The Jets' defense remains elite, having held each of its last two opponents below 200 yards, while the offense just got an undeniable bump from Zach Wilson's return to the lineup. I'm still riding with the home team here, but I do NOT envision a repeat of the three-touchdown beatdown Miami delivered to New York three weeks ago, during Gang Green's brief Tim Boyle era."

Bill Bender, Sporting News: Dolphins 34-21

"Zach Wilson is coming off a 301-yard, two-TD performance, and it's desperation time for the Jets in the AFC playoff race. Miami is 4-1 ATS at home, and they beat the Jets 34-13 on Nov. 24. Does Wilson make a difference in the rematch? Even on a short week, Miami stays on point with its league-leading offense."

Tyler Dragon, USA TODAY: Dolphins 27-20

"The Dolphins last week became the first team in NFL history to lose despite being up 14 points with less than three minutes remaining in regulation. Miami still has the top total offense in the league and averages the most points in the AFC. The Jets won’t be able to score enough points to keep pace with the Dolphins, but Tyreek Hill’s ankle injury is something to monitor."

John Breech, CBS Sports: Dolphins 30-20
