On Monday afternoon, 17-year-old Vladi Miguel Guerrero, the son of Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero and half-brother of Vladimir Guerrero Jr., was among 20 international signings for the Mets.

The teenager from the Dominican Republic is known for his left-handed power bat and signed at an estimated cost of $117,000, according to MLB.com. He plays first base and the outfield. In a post on X/Twitter, Vladimir Guerrero celebrated his son's signing with the Mets

During the 2023 season, the Mets also acquired infielder Luisangel Acuña, the 21-year-old brother of reigning National League MVP Ronald Acuña Jr., in a trade that sent Max Scherzer to the Rangers.

The Mets' international free agent class is led by 17-year-old catcher Yovanny Rodriguez, the fifth-best international prospect according to Baseball America and seventh-best prospect on MLB Pipeline's international prospect list.
