Mel Kiper’s first 2023 NFL mock draft has Bryce Young at QB2

Mel Kiper’s first 2023 NFL mock draft has Bryce Young at QB2

When it comes to the NFL draft and talent evaluation, there are none more-experienced or more well-known than ESPN’s College Draft Analyst, Mel Kiper. Kiper has covered the NFL draft for ESPN since 1984.

In Kiper’s most recent 2023 NFL mock draft, he has the Chicago Bears selecting Jalen Carter from Georgia with the first overall selection before the Houston Texans select Ohio State quarterback, C.J. Stroud at No. 2.

Then the former Crimson Tide players start to come off the board with Will Anderson going No. 3 to the Arizona Cardinals and Bryce Young No. 4 to the Indianapolis Colts. Personally, I think it is likely that someone trades up with the Bears to take a quarterback No. 1 overall, likely the Colts for Bryce.

What is interesting though is that Kiper projects three quarterbacks to be selected in the top five.
