Meet the top Columbia area juniors ahead of 2024 TSSAA football season

The TSSAA football season is just months away and there's a handful of juniors set to have a large impact in the Columbia area this season.

Here's a look at the top area juniors in the Columbia area for the 2024 Tennessee high school football season.

Daniel Cepicky, Columbia Academy, OL/DL: The 6-foot-7 Cepicky was a DII-A All-State selection last season, finishing with 15 tackles and two sacks.

Jax Hickerson, Columbia Academy, WR/DL: Hickerson had 27 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery for the Bulldogs last season.

Justis Haggard, Columbia Central, FS/RB: Haggard finished last season with 60 tackles and two interceptions while on offense he had 450 total yards and five touchdowns.

Isaiah Bishop, Columbia Central, RT: The 6-foot-4, 300 pound lineman started every game for the Lions last season and is set to make an even greater impact this season.

Burton Moore, Columbia Central, QB: A two-sport athlete, Moore will step into a bigger role this season after his strong arm helped him secure the starting spot midway through last season.

Syler Green, Independence, OL: Green has an offer from Eastern Kentucky after starting every game at left tackle for the Eagles last season.

Caden Liebler, Independence, OL: Liebler is a key member of the Eagles offensive line, starting every game at center last season.

Hunter Mullen, Independence, DB: Mullen has offers from UConn and Western Kentucky and will play on both sides of the ball for Independence this season.

Mason Tidwell, Loretto, QB: Tidwell threw for 1,448 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Mustangs last season.

Corben Reynolds, Loretto, WR: Reynolds had 48 receptions last season for 876 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Blaze Thomason, Loretto, DL: Thomason had 44.5 total tackles last season, four for a loss along with three sacks.

Jayden McClure, Mt. Pleasant, RB/DE: McClure had 186 yards and three touchdowns last season. On defense he had 15 solo tackles and 10 quarterback hurries in six games.

Carter Dunn, Mt. Pleasant, RB: Dunn rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns and is set to feature in a larger role this season.

Jake Sands, Richland, WR/DB: The 5-foot-9 receiver will have a more responsibilities for the Raiders this season, with his returning ability on special teams set to be key.

Blaine Moore, Summertown, OT: Moore will help protect senior quarterback Jaden Stoll.

Peyton Niehaus, Summertown, WR: Niehaus finished last season with 21.5 yards receiving yards per game and was third amongst receivers on the team in touchdowns.
