Meet The Oklahoman’s 2024 Big All-City high school boys basketball first team

Here's a look at each member of The Oklahoman's Big All-City boys basketball first team:

Player of the Year: Carlsheon Young, Midwest City

Midwest City's Carlsheon Young scored 22 points in the Class 5A state title game to lead the Bombers to their first state title since 2007.

6-foot-5 | Guard | Junior 

The story: It didn't take long for Young to fit in at Midwest City following his transition from Newcastle. After the Oklahoma State commit arrived, the Bombers pulled off a historic one-year turnaround, bouncing back from a six-win season to emerge as the Class 5A state champions in 2024. Young scored 22 points in the state title game to lead the Bombers to their first state title since 2007. He put his versatile skillset on full display as a junior, averaging 18.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and three assists.

Trashaun Combs-Pierce, Norman

6-foot-8 | Forward | Senior

The story: Combs-Pierce constantly showed his unique versatility on both ends of the floor in his final season. The 6-foot-8, two-way big man was the leading force behind the Tigers' 21-6 season and state tournament appearance. Combs-Pierce, an Independence (Kansas) Community College signee, averaged 17.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 2.4 steals.

6-foot | Guard | Junior

The story: The Knights benefited from a high-paced motion offense, but Furnish was undoubtedly their leader. Crossings Christian's star solidified himself as one of the best creators in the state while putting up 15.6 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals per game on high shooting efficiency. Furnish's production led the Knights to the Class 5A state semifinals

Chianté Tramble, Edmond North

6-foot-2 | Guard | Senior

The story: After spending last season at Putnam West, Tramble became the tone-setter and all-around leader at point guard for Edmond North. The Independence (Kansas) Community College signee helped lead the Huskies back to the Class 6A state championship game for a third straight season, averaging 15 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Dylan Warlick, Edmond North

6-foot-5 | Forward | Senior

The story: Warlick, a Wyoming signee, has consistently anchored Edmond North's defense while leading the team in scoring since his sophomore year. Whenever the Huskies needed him most, Warlick stepped up on both ends of the floor thanks to his unwavering motor. The two-time state champion averaged 19 points, nine rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest while leading the Huskies to their third consecutive state title game.

Coach of the Year: Torey Noel, Midwest City

The story: After winning just six games in Class 6A in 2023, Midwest City dropped to 5A, and Noel took advantage of the shift to capture the Bombers' fifth state title. In his debut season at his alma mater, Noel led the Bombers to their first gold ball since 2007 with a 25-3 record. He guided them past a host of elite Class 5A opponents in multiple single-digit matchups against Guthrie, Carl Albert and Tulsa Booker T. Washington.
