Here are the All-Spartanburg area high school baseball first and second teams, along with the 2023 Spartanburg Herald-Journal Baseball Player of the Year.
The Spartanburg area includes schools from Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union counties. All statistics were sent in by coaches or found online on MaxPreps or GameChanger. Players are listed by position, then last name.

Jackson Cole
Boiling Springs
Senior | Pitcher
Following in the footsteps of former Boiling Springs ace and current Clemson pitcher Tristan Smith, Jackson Cole is the second Bulldogs pitcher in a row to be named the Baseball Player of the Year.
Cole, a Clemson signee, was named to the Class AAAAA All-State team and won the Region 2-AAAAA Player of the Year award after a spectacular season.
Through 66⅔ innings pitched, Cole struck out 117 batters and had an ERA of 1.78 with a 7-1 record. On offense, he hit for a .340 average with three home runs, 32 RBIs and 16 runs.

Cogdell, a Newberry signee, had an ERA of 1.41 with a 7-2 record and 51 strikeouts through 44⅔ innings.
Ian Squires

Senior | Pitcher
The North Greenville signee was a Class AAAAA All-State and All-Region 2-AAAAA selection after producing a 1.33 ERA with 88 strikeouts in 68⅔ innings pitched.
Mitch Wilson

With four homers, 19 RBIs and a .338 batting average, the North Carolina commit was a Class AAAAA All-State and All-Region 2-AAAAA team selection.
Levi Barrett

Barrett, an All-Region 1-AA team selection, batted .494 with three home runs, 24 RBIs, 23 stolen bases and 38 runs scored.
Kolby Capps

Capps, a Class AA All-State and All-Region 1-AA selection, batted .464 with six home runs, 26 RBIs, 19 stolen bases and 32 runs scored.
Beckett Driggers

Driggers, an Erskine signee, batted .392 with one home run, 18 RBIs, 28 runs and 16 stolen bases.
Wesley Shipman

Shipman, an All-Region 3-AAA selection, batted .491 with a home run, 16 RBIs, 14 runs scored and five stolen bases.
Kole Brown

Brown batted .359 with five homers, 20 RBIs, 30 runs and seven stolen bases.

The Newberry signee was a Class AAAAA All-State and All-Region 2-AAAAA team selection after hitting .387 with 18 RBIs, 34 runs, seven stolen bases and one home run.

Welch, an All-Region 2-AAAAA selection and USC Lancaster signee, hit six home runs and had 25 RBIs.
Johann Rodriguez

Rodriguez, a Charleston Southern signee and Class AAA All-State team selection, batted .423 with two homers and 30 RBIs and stole six bases.
