Meet the 2023 Jackson Sun's All-West Tennessee high school baseball team

To be the lone Jackson-area player selected a Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Mr. Baseball finalist spoke volumes on how special of a season Peabody’s Owen Lee was having.

But there was so much more for the senior shortstop. For starters, Lee helped the Golden Tide reach the Class 1A state tournament.

Secondly, his final statistics earned him The Jackson Sun’s 2023 All-West Tennessee Player of the Year.

Lee’s .442 batting average encompassed 50 hits, including eight doubles and five triples. He also finished with 66 runs scored and 38 stolen bases. He's bound for Tennessee Tech.

Here’s the complete All-West Tennessee teams for the 2023 season.

First Team

Jack Brafa

South Gibson

Pitcher | Senior

Why chosen: Brafa, a Tennessee Tech signee, went 7-2 with a 2.03 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched. He also batted .427 and had 46 RBIs.

Trey Dooley

Camden

Pitcher | Junior

Why chosen: Dooley earned District 11-AA MVP honors after going 6-2 with a 1.81 ERA and a school-record 105 strikeouts.

Harrison Way

Adamsville

Pitcher | Senior

Why chosen: Way led the Cardinals with a 7-1 record and a 1.77 ERA.

Alan Torres

Peabody

Catcher | Senior

Why chosen: Torres batted .452 with 40 RBIs, 34 runs scored and 17 stolen bases.

Why chosen: Fenton led the Choctaws with a .438 batting average, while driving in 25 runs and stealing 19 bases.

Why chosen: Lee hit .442 with eight home runs and 62 RBIs.

Ethan Quinn

Riverside

Infielder | Senior

Why chosen: Quinn, a Freed-Hardeman signee, batted .368 with 10 doubles, 27 RBIs and 46 runs scored.

Cason Sharp

Bradford

Infielder | Senior

Why chosen: Sharp helped guide the Red Devils to the Class 1A state tournament with a .485 batting average, seven home runs and 37 RBIs.

Austin Epperson

Dyer Co.

Outfielder | Senior

Why chosen: Epperson hit .421 with 32 RBIs for the Choctaws, who advanced to the semifinals of the Class 3A state tournament.

Griffin Graves

Trinity Christian

Outfielder | Senior

Why chosen: Graves, an Auburn signee, dazzled at the plate (.467 batting average) and on the mound (6-1, 0.91 ERA and 125 strikeouts).

Colin Milligan

Milan

Outfielder | Sophomore

Why chosen: Milligan batted .427, scored 52 runs and drove in 20.

Jackson Cassidy

Why chosen: Cassidy homered five times and led the Rebels with a .480 batting average.
