The 2023 All-Greater Rochester Boys Volleyball Team is revealed

Here is the 2023 All-Greater Rochester  Boys Volleyball Team as determined by a vote of Section V coaches with input from Democrat and Chronicle staff.

Player of the Year

Year: Senior

Parents: Sheryl Sanders and Dan White

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishments: 172 kills.

Future plans: Attend Daemen University to play volleyball.

Why he is Player of the Year: Aidan White was the best player on the best volleyball team in the state, and his overwhelming vote total made the senior outside hitter the easy choice for AGR Player of the Year. White's ascension has been remarkable. He led Fairport to a perfect 21-0 season and an NYSPHSAA championship for his swan song. along the way. He was named MVP of the NYS tournament, and put down 20 kills, 3 aces and 3 blocks in an epic five set win over Webster in the Section V final rematch. The Red Raiders were ranked No. 1 in the state all season thanks to White's presence.

Parents: Shannon and Geoffrey Bones

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishment: 138 digs.

Future plans: Study economics and play volleyball.

Parents: Shelly and Brian Cannon

Position: Setter

Key accomplishments: 1000-plus career assists, 124 digs this season.

Future plans: Undecided.

Year: Senior

Parents: Mary Anne and Jason DeJohn

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishment: 26 kills versus Webster.

Future plans: Attend and play volleyball at Roberts Wesleyan University.

Key accomplishments: Section V all-tournament team and club nationals competition. AGR and NY state finalist in 2022.

Key accomplishments: 2.45 serve receive rating in sectional finals.

Future plans: Play volleyball at Nazareth University.

Parents: Dawn and Ryan Howe

Position: Setter

Key accomplishments: 60 aces.

Future plans: Uncommitted. Plan on playing volleyball in college.

Year: Junior

Parents: Lisa and Robert Jackson

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishments: All Tournament Team Class B Sectionals

Future plans: Attend college for business, play volleyball and continue showing dairy cattle.

Position: Middle hitter

Key accomplishments: Monroe County Division I first team.

Year: Senior

Parents: Holly and Scott Preische

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishment: 24 kills in one match.

Future plans: Studying biology and playing volleyball at a four-year university.

Parents: Mingchao Zhang and Jay Qian

Position: Outside hitter

Key accomplishment: Averaged 18 kills per game.

Future plans: Playing volleyball in college while pursuing a degree in electrical engineering/computer science.

Profession: Teacher, 6th grade math at Fairport Central School District

Varsity coaching experience: Fairport boys varsity volleyball 2006-present; McQuaid varsity assistant 2003 to 2005.
