Her 37 goals and 11 assists from center midfield earned her a Class AAA All-State team selection and the Region 2-AAA Player of the Year award. Powdersville coach Colin Melton says Hutchinson commands the entire field with a composed nature, while off-the-field she's a great role model for her teammates, consistently being an example of a hard worker.

Combine the Division I pedigree, elite level of production and positive off-the-field character with the fact the Patriots finished the season with a 16-3-1 record, a region championship and a second straight appearance in the Upper State title game, it's safe to say Hutchinson affected winning.

For those reasons, Nicole Hutchinson is the 2023 Anderson Independent-Mail Girls Soccer Player of the Year.
