Matthew Slater is still earning high praise in 14th season with Patriots

New England Patriots specialist Matthew Slater has been a model of consistency since joining the organization in 2008. A five-time First-Team All-Pro player and a 10-time Pro Bowler, Slater has been a key part of New England’s special teams for over a decade.

Operating as a gunner, Slater has recorded nine combined tackles on the season. The most he recorded this season was two against the Carolina Panthers on November 7. Now in his 14th season, Slater continues to impress the coaching staff. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, special teams coach Cam Achord gave high praise to the veteran.

As New England looks to make an impact with a playoff run, Slater will be an important piece moving forward.
