Matchups, results for Franklin Post 75 at 2023 Legion Northeast Regionals

Franklin Post 75 returns to Worcester's Fitton Field for the second straight August. This time, Post 75 will look to make a better impression at Northeast Regionals.

The two-time reigning Massachusetts American Legion baseball state champions open play in the double-elimination tournament vs. West Hartford, Connecticut, on Wednesday in Worcester (4:30 p.m.). Last summer, Post 75 went 1-2 at Regionals as host Shrewsbury won the tournament to advance to the World Series. This year, undefeated Franklin (24-0) feels better about its chances this year to make it to Shelby, North Carolina, for this year's 96th Series on Aug. 10-15.

“I feel like the group we have this year is definitely more talented throughout the entire nine hitters in the lineup,” Massachusetts state tournament MVP Chris Goode said after Friday’s 6-5 win over Shrewsbury. “I think we can definitely make some noise over there.”

“We have the utmost confidence,” Franklin pitcher Alfred Mucciarone said. “Our goal is to win (Regionals) and see what we can do.”
