Marquette lacrosse player arrested at 3 a.m. for having sex in locker room: I was there to do laundry

A Marquette men’s lacrosse player was arrested on March 3 after allegedly getting caught engaging in sexual activity in the women’s volleyball locker room, according to an incident report acquired by the Marquette Wire.

The unnamed player reportedly faces charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Per the report, a janitor called the Marquette University Police Department to report the two students at 3:10 a.m.

Marquette Wire reports a Marquette spokesperson denied the event occurred in the volleyball locker room, directly contradicting the incident report. The accused lacrosse player — who, again, was arrested after 3 a.m. — also had quite an excuse for being there when talking to police.

He said he was there to do laundry.

Of course, that story quickly fell apart when police said they observed that the athlete did not have any laundry with him. Per the report, he eventually admitted he was indeed there to have sex with a female student after both he and his female companion initially denied it. The female student reportedly told police the sex was consensual, though she did have an unknown amount of vodka confiscated.

If this lacrosse player is disciplined or suspended for the incident, he certainly won’t be the first Golden Eagle to be forcibly sidelined. A jaw-dropping 19 players were suspended from an earlier game this season for violating team rules.
