While the sports world shifts its collective attention to the NCAA basketball tournaments, we’ve decided to look the other way, where a four-legged madness awaited—a tail-wagging lineup of 100 dog breeds that could make our field of 64.

This is March Fluffness.

Make no mistake (and NCAA Selection Committee, we feel you): looking over the list of most popular dog breeds and narrowing that down to 64 was monumentally difficult. Several pups were on the bubble. And decisions had to be made. Will those decisions put us in the proverbial doghouse? Yes.

But every dog has its day, and with that in mind, these were our picks for the top 64 breeds.
