Magic Johnson, Kevin Durant shout out South Carolina's MiLaysia Fulwiley vs. Notre Dame

Freshman guard MiLaysia Fulwiley pulled off a move so nasty in her first game as a Gamecock that some of the sport's all-time greats took notice.

Dawn Staley and No. 4 South Carolina is in Paris for their season-opening game against No. 10 Notre Dame. Late in the second quarter, Fulwiley drove down the court, went behind-the-back to beat her first defender and then laid it in, beating two more defenders.

The basket not only put the Gamecocks up 40-31 late in the second quarter against the Fighting Irish, but also put the nation on notice as to what Fulwiley can do.

Who is MiLaysia Fulwiley?

Fulwiley was the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, the top player in South Carolina's freshman class and is considered one of the preseason frontrunners for SEC Freshman of the Year.

Staley called her a "generational talent" after seeing some of her crazy high school highlights last year, and it's easy to see why just from this first game.

Fulwiley scored a team-high 24 points, adding six rebounds, five assists and three steals in an exhibition game vs. Rutgers on Oct. 22. She averaged 25.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 5.7 steals and 2.7 blocks her senior season and even pulled off a dunk in a game at only five-foot-7.
