Minty Bets, Jared Quay & Matt Harmon debate a few prop bets for Week 8 of the 2020 NFL season.

Video Transcript

MINTY BETS: Welcome to Mad that's, everyone. This is our week eight fantasy props segment. I'm Minty Bets here with Jared Quay, as always, and Yahoo fantasy analyst, Matt Harmon.

Let's get right to it with our first fantasy crop. Who gets more touchdowns? Ben Roethlisberger or Lamar Jackson? Let's start with Harmon here.

MATT HARMON: Yeah. I feel like because Lamar obviously has the rushing equity, he's probably the safer pick here. But this Raven's passing offense, maybe a change is coming off of the bye week. But they're 21st right now in pass offense DVOA.

They're overall just not putting up a ton of production through the air. Yeah, they didn't pass for more than 210 yards since their week one game against the Browns. It's been a pretty slow slog for this passing offense. And I think they're going to figure things out eventually.

It I'm not too worried about it. But I'm going to go with Ben Roethlisberger, right now. Even though it's a tougher match-up against that Ravens defense, with Jared's brother, of course. And they're welcoming in a new piece, in Yannink Ngakoue.

But I love the way the Steelers receivers are playing right now. They're all healthy. Diontae Johnson came off a big game last week. He's their number one receiver.

They've got JuJu and James Claypool as well. I think there's just too many weapons to defend in Pittsburgh right now. So I'm going to go with Roethlisberger on this pick.

MINTY BETS: Jared, how about you? What do you think? You're going to say-- you're going to say, Lamar.

JARED QUAY: There you go, Minty. Minty, go ahead and make my pick for me. I'm glad that Harmon went the other way, though. Because now I get to be right and he gets to be wrong.

They're coming off a bye. Obviously, football's about what team catches stride that best. You don't want to peak too early. Which is why Lamar Jackson is playing it slow. And then when he starts hitting the ground running, it's going to be eight straight weeks, 300-400 yards throwing.

And on top of that, this is the best defense Big Ben's played all year. Come on, Big Ben's been playing some cupcake games here. This is when he got to play Marcus Piers. He's got to go against [INAUDIBLE] and Yan.

We got Yan now? Get out of here. I just don't think Big Ben is going to be doing what he's been doing. I think this can be a game that the Ravens gonna pretty hand to me. I know it's a rivalry, but I think of a bye, we got lucky.

The Ravens got lucky they switched this game. They got a bye week. Now Lamar Jackson is going to go to work.

MINTY BETS: OK. I'm going to keep my little short and simple. I agree with Harmon here. I like Big Ben. Yeah, Lamar Jackson has recorded a touchdown in every single game this season so far. But Big Ben has recorded an average of two touchdowns in every single game.

I think the Steelers defense is a little better here. So I'm going with Big Ben to score more touchdowns. Let's move on to fantasy prop number 2. Over or under 250 passing yards for Russell Wilson against the 49ers? Jared, you go first.

JARED QUAY: Over, easy. Russ has been lights out. You can't-- you can't just zone him. He's going to eat you. If you man him, he's going to run on you. 49ers have a great coach and a great defense, but I just don't see Russell not getting at least 300 yards passing here.

MATT HARMON: I love it when Jared and I can be on the same page here. Yes, easy over. 250 yards? Are you kidding me? I think Russ clears this by a good amount. And the problem is, the Seahawks offense is such a match-up problem right now.

You know, when you've got DKO on one side of the field and you decide to dedicate resources to take him away, we saw on Sunday Night Football, that Lockett is right there with DK in terms of ability, talent, whatever.

He can drop 200 yards on you in three touchdowns, no problem. Like, they're going to put defenses in a bind all year. I think that's going to continue against the 49ers unit that's-- Like frankly, they're still very banged up in the secondary.

They're kind of coaching around it. They're making it work. And props to them for doing it. But I think when they match-up against this unit, there's just too much talent on that side of the ball for Seattle, for Russell to not clear this by, again, I think a pretty comfortable about.

MINTY BETS: I love it. We're sweeping here. I also like the over. San Francisco's passing defense is long. About 200 passing yards per game, which is not that bad. But Russell always finds a way. And he will find a way to sling that ball around down the field.

I like Russell here and the over. Even though he broke my heart last week, I don't think it'll happen again. Now, fantasy prop number three. Over or under 1 and 1/2 touchdowns for Tua Tagovailoa starting for Miami? Now guys, this is his first NFL start. So Harmon, what do you say?

MATT HARMON: Oh man, this is a tough line. Because I feel like just taking one touchdown is way too conservative. But at the same time, I think this is a pretty tough spot for Tua to make his first start. I'm not too worried about the weapons in Miami.

I think the DeVante Parker has been playing good football. I think Gesicki can actually be more unlocked with a guy like two Tua who-- Don't get me wrong. I love Fitzpatrick.

Like, I think Tua is much more of a timing anticipatory passer. I think he can make things work with Gesicki, who's running a lot more slot routes than most tight ends in the league right now. But I'm going to go under on this one, simply because of the match-up. Again it's just a tough spot to run into your first start at this one.

JARED QUAY: Tua's first time I've ever seen a play was in the middle of a National Championship game where he came back and won. The kid loves big pressure situations. I think his first play, he's going to break a sack from Aaron Donald and target Jalen Ramsey, and get a touchdown with the DeVante Parker.

I'm just saying, I'm a Tua fan. They're a lot better than people think they are. And 1 and 1/2 touchdowns is actually on the lower end. Because he can run, too. So I'm just going to say, let's go over with that.

MINTY BETS: Yeah. He's an impressive player. He is mobile. But, I mean, it's his first NFL career start. We know that college and NFL is like, completely different. I think he gets at least one, because the Rams are coming off a kind of a shorter week and traveling from West to East.

So I say one and I say the under here. Guys, remember to check out FFL every single Sunday, right before kickoff at 11:30 AM Eastern Standard Time.
