MINTY BETS: Welcome to "Mad Bets," everyone. I'm Minty Bets, joined by Jared Quay, and we're here to talk a little NBA. Now, Jared, before the season started, you picked the Phoenix Suns to win it all. Now that the season has played out a little bit, do you still like them to win the title?

JARED QUAY: I mean, yes, for the odds you were getting them at, it was amazing, and now people understand they are, for real, a good team. In fact, I want to go back to all these people because I remember I watched the comments, because I'm a human, and all the people were putting the Soulja Boy meme, talking about, the Suns! This guy thinks the Suns are good! And they are a good team. Now, do I really think they're gonna win the championship? It's still a long shot. But I do think they're a quality team that may win one in the next four to five years.

MINTY BETS: Which team has been your favorite to bet on this season?

JARED QUAY: The NBA has been risky. It's been weird. Obviously, the safest bet you can bet is the Nets over and the Washington Wizards over. One of the teams I'm currently high on is the Toronto Raptors. I think Pascal Siakam is starting to play at a high level. Again, he had a terrible start to the season. But this team is scoring a lot of points. They have scorers. They are missing the defense of Serge Ibaka and, obviously, Kawhi Leonard from two years ago. So their members have let a lot of teams score a lot of points. But I still think the Toronto Raptors are gonna get it back hot. They're sub-.500 right now. That won't be for long. So they're a good team to beat in the medium. But, again, basketball is waves, you know, good waves and bad waves.

MINTY BETS: All right. And which team are you avoiding the rest of the season?

JARED QUAY: I ain't gonna lie to you, the Nets are too overvalued when it comes to the point spread. At first, I was high on them. I was like, oh, man, with Harden and Durant, they're gonna be good. But they're just literally, like, 7-point favorites every time they play games, and they're just a team I'm gonna fade until later in the season. Of course, they will get it together when the playoffs come, but just for right now, that's a no-touch team for me.

MINTY BETS: All right. Now, if you had to put all your money on a team to win it all, which team would that be?

JARED QUAY: Detroit Pistons, hands down. I'm joking. I'm joking.

[LAUGHTER]

No, the Pistons are gonna be good. They have some good players. But, obviously, the team that is the clear favorite is the Lakers. They're still a very strong team. LeBron's playing like he's in year 10, and he's in year 18. AD's great. I mean, obviously, any time they lose, it's because AD's out. But the Jazz, secretly, are a solid competitor. They've been playing just lights out. So it's not a walk for the Lakers, but I still do think they repeat back to back.
