Mac Jones and Adrian Phillips both at practice on Wednesday

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones practiced on Wednesday, despite dealing with the back injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Safety Adrian Phillips was also present during the open media portion of practice.

Phillips left the game on Sunday with a rib injury. Teammate Kyle Dugger indicated he thought Phillips’ injury wasn’t too serious earlier this week. So Phillips’ presence on Wednesday was certainly a positive.

Every member of the Patriots’ 53-man roster was present on Wednesday, as the team gets set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Marcus Cannon was also present Wednesday, as he took the practice field with the Patriots for the first time since 2019, per Zack Cox of NESN.com

The health of Jones will be especially important for a Patriots offense that is looking to get back on track. It’ll also be important to have Phillips back on the field at a safety position that relies heavily on veteran leadership.

In any event, the statuses of both Jones and Phillips will be worth monitoring throughout the week.
