Who should be the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal's Athlete of the Week?
The fall season is in full effect as athletes from volleyball and football turned in stellar performances from last week and are are among the finalists for the Lone Star Varsity Athlete of the Week.
Coaches can nominate student-athletes in all varsity sports by sending an email to sports@lubbockonline.com. Please include: name, grade, pertinent stats and use the subject head: Athlete of the Week nomination to ensure it's seen.
The poll opens Monday morning and will close at noon Thursday with the winners announced Friday each week.

Female athletes
Addison Andrews, So., Coronado — Notched 15 kills and 12 digs in a win over Monterey.
Chloe Conover, Sr., All Saints — Had 13 kills, 19 digs and three aces in a win over Shallowater.
Kamdyn Garcia, Jr., Ropes — Had 60 digs and nine aces in two wins for the Lady Eagles.
Male athletes
Chip Green, So., Littlefield — Set the school record with 325 passing yards, throwing for four TDs and running for 71 yards and two TDs in a win over Post.
Sebastian Kirven, Jr., Muleshoe — Threw for 251 yards and four TDs, adding 114 rushing yards in a win over Friona.
Andres Mendoza, Sr., Floydada — Ran for 212 yards and three TDs in a win over Smyer.
