LSU women's basketball star transfer forward Aneesah Morrow has arrived on campus

One half of the top-rated transfer portal haul for LSU women's basketball this offseason has arrived on campus.

Junior forward Aneesah Morrow is officially joined the Tigers.

Kim Mulkey's other big-time transfer, the top-rated player in the portal this offseason in point guard Hailey Van Lith, is competing with USA Basketball's 3x3 team in the U23 Nations League over the coming weeks. The former Louisville guard will be fully on campus in Baton Rouge when classes start Aug. 21.

Morrow was the No. 2 player in the transfer portal and one of the top forwards in women's basketball along with her new Tiger teammate Angel Reese.

She put together a stellar two seasons at DePaul where she piled up more than 50 double-doubles. Last season, Morrow averaged 25.7 points and 12.2 rebounds per game and she attempted 209 3's, a career-high for her of which she made 25%.

The 6-foot-1 Morrow fits right into the roster spot that was previously held by forward LaDazhia Williams, who was selected by the Indiana Fever in this year's WNBA Draft. While the Chicago native needs the ball in her hands, as she is a shot creator, she's been working on her perimeter game, which would add a new dimension to LSU's offense.

LSU is coming off its first national championship, knocking off Iowa and star Caitlin Clark, 102-85, in Dallas in April.

With Reese, Van Lith and Morrow, a trio of All-American caliber players, the reigning NCAA champs are scarier and look to be ranked preseason No. 1 for the 2023-24 seaosn.

First opportunities for fans to see the new triple threat is when the Tigers open the season Nov. 6 against Colorado in Las Vegas.
