LSU cracks the top 5 in CBS Sports preseason college football rankings
With the calendar turning to August, you’ll have college football on your television before the month is out.
That means that preseason content is coming in full force, and CBS Sports recently put out its preseason top 25 teams, according to writer Chip Patterson.
LSU enters 2023 with College Football Playoff hopes after a 10-win campaign last fall, and Patterson agrees. He placed the Tigers at the No. 4 spot in his preseason poll behind only Georgia, Michigan and Ohio State.
The Tigers finished out the 2022 season in the No. 15 spot in Patterson’s rankings, so he’s projecting a leap this fall.
He’s not the only one, either. The team returns a lot of talent on both sides of the ball and had a huge transfer haul once again. The Tigers will hope Patterson’s prediction rings true when football gets underway for LSU at the start of September.
