LSU basketball vs. Arkansas State: Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

LSU returns to the court on Saturday afternoon looking to get to 2-0 to start the Matt McMahon era.

Next up is Arkansas State, who comes into this one at 1-0 with a victory over Division II Harding. The Red Wolves are coming off a winning season in 2021-22, but they’ve never made the postseason under sixth-year head coach Mike Balado.

Prediction and Best Bet

Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports

The Tigers looked a bit sloppy in Game 1, which was to be expected with a new coaching staff and roster that has undergone so many changes this offseason. Luckily, the Tigers’ have a relatively kind non-conference slate to open the season while they figure things out.

Arkansas State took care of business in it’s opener against a Division II opponent, but LSU on the road will be a different challenge entirely. I’m not sure I love the Tigers to cover, given the margin against Kansas City, but I do expect a comfortable win.

Prediction: LSU 75, Arkansas State 61

Advice: Arkansas State (+18.5) / Under (140.5)
