LSU baseball score vs. Alabama: Live updates from Alex Box Stadium
BATON ROUGE – No. 1 LSU baseball will try to earn its second consecutive SEC series sweep, as it faces Alabama for Game 3 of its three-game series on Sunday (1 p.m., SEC Network+).
The Tigers (34-8, 14-5 SEC) took Game 1 of the series on Friday, 8-6, and Game 2 on Saturday, 12-8.
LSU's offense led the way on Saturday with home runs from Tommy White, Hayden Travinski and Jared Jones. Travinski's three-run blast delivered LSU the lead in the sixth inning and Jones' two-run home run extended that advantage to three.
Starting pitcher Ty Floyd struggled, allowing six earned runs in 2⅔ innings pitched. But the bullpen picked him up, only surrendering two earned runs and three hits in 6⅓ innings pitched.
Relievers Sam Dutton, Javen Coleman, Blake Money, Nate Ackenhausen, Gavin Guidry, Riley Cooper and Thatcher Hurd combined to strikeout eight batters without allowing an extra-base hit. Hurd closed out the game, as he didn't allow a hitter to reach in 1⅔ innings pitched.
Alabama (30-14, 9-11) had won four straight games before Friday, sweeping Missouri last weekend and beating Samford on Tuesday.
