The Louisville Bats were bought Tuesday by Diamond Baseball Holdings.

Leadership of the Cincinnati Reds' Class AAA team still will be held by Bats President Greg Galiette — a Louisville native — and the existing front office.

“On behalf of my team, I want to thank (Stuart and Jerry Katzoff) for their guidance and partnership over the past nine years. We are delighted by the continued support from our Mayor (Craig Greenberg), and grateful to the Reds for their continued partnership in their thriving player development system,” Galiette said in a news release. “It’s an exciting day in Louisville as we turn the page on a new chapter of professional baseball in our community. DBH will provide incredible resources for the Bats and help us elevate and expand the experience our fans have come to know and love.”

The Bats will continue to play at Louisville Slugger Field, the famous namesake of the iconic bat maker. Stadium renovations were completed in 2022, adding an improved children’s area, expanded outdoor space, three new LED video boards, a premium seating area behind home plate and a Humana cabana for fans.

Diamond Baseball Holdings owns numerous Triple-A teams (Albuquerque Isotopes, Iowa Cubs, Fresno Grizzlies, Gwinnett Stripers, Memphis Redbirds, Norfolk Tides, Oklahoma City Dodgers, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, St. Paul Saints and Worcester Red Sox; Double-A’s Altoona Curve, Birmingham Barons, Midland RockHounds, Mississippi Braves, New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Portland Sea Dogs, Springfield Cardinals, Tulsa Drillers and Wichita Wind Surge; High-A’s Hickory Crawdads, Hudson Valley Renegades, Lansing Lugnuts, Rome Emperors, Salem Red Sox and Vancouver Canadians; and a handful of Single-A teams (Augusta GreenJackets, Down East Wood Ducks and San Jose Giants).

“The Cincinnati Reds highly value our partnership with the Louisville Bats and we are delighted to usher in a new chapter in Louisville alongside Diamond Baseball Holdings,” said Nick Krall, Reds president of baseball operations, in a news release.
