Liverpool XI vs Burnley: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League game today

Caoimhin Kelleher starts for Liverpool against Burnley today with regular first-choice goalkeeper Alisson sidelined through illness.

The Reds are again without the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Thiago Alcantara due to injury, while a flu bug has also been affecting the squad this week.

“Thiago is not cool,” said manager Jurgen Klopp on Friday. “He showed a lot of things on LFCTV and looked outstanding, so we took him, let him play for a few minutes. It's a muscle issue, we don't know the extent yet but it's not cool. Not good news for him or us.

“It's not a big, big injury but not good at the moment.”

He added: “We are fighting with a little bit of flu thing in the squad, so we have to see who in the end is available, which is not cool.”

Wataru Endo’s return from the Asian Cup is therefore a timely one, and the 31-year-old comes straight into the side for his first Liverpool appearance since New Year’s Day.

Ibrahima Konate is suspended, after his late red card against Arsenal, while Joe Gomez is also out ill.

It means Andy Robertson earns his first start since returning from a shoulder injury, having made three appearances off the bench in recent weeks, and Jarell Quansah partners Virgil van Dijk.

Mohamed Salah does not return yet from his hamstring issue, but Darwin Nunez comes back into the starting lineup, with Cody Gakpo the man to drop out.

Conor Bradley is still out, but Kostas Tsimikas is back on a youthful bench that includes youngsters Bobby Clark, James McConnell, Lewis Koumas and Fabian Mrozek.

Liverpool XI: Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Van Dijk, Robertson, Jones, Endo, Mac Allister, Diaz, Nunez, Jota

Subs: Adrian, Gakpo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, Clark, McConnell, Koumas, Mrozek

Time and date: 3pm GMT on Saturday February 10
