Game recap: Miami Dolphins rally falls short against Kansas City Chiefs in Germany

FRANKFURT, GERMANY — Guten Tag aus Deutschland!

Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins will face Patrick Mahomes and the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in a 9:30 a.m. kickoff. Local kickoff time in Frankfurt is 3:30 p.m. Keep scrolling for updates, and refresh the page for the latest.

The Dolphins (6-2) got back on track last week with a 31-17 victory over the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium. Tagovailoa threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Tagovailoa enters Week 9 as the NFL leader in passing yards (2,416) and is tied for the most touchdown passes (18) with Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks Kirk Cousins, who is out for the season with a torn Achilles.

Wide receiver Tyreek Hill also leads the NFL with the most receiving yards (1,014) and touchdowns (8). He is the only player with more than 1,000 receiving yards through the first eight games.

Kansas City (6-2) enters this matchup after an uncharacteristic 23-9 loss to the Denver Broncos last Sunday, the same team Miami beat 70-20 earlier this season.

Patrick Mahomes' favorite target Travis Kelce has become a media sensation for the NFL this season thanks to his courtship of musician Taylor Swift. It is uncertain whether Swift will attend the game in Germany.

Former first round pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been ruled out with an injury.

Miami leads the all-time series against the Kansas City Chiefs 16-15. The Chiefs won the last matchup between the teams 33-27 on Dec. 13, 2020.
