Colonels' miscues, turnovers lead to Nicholls football Week 4 loss to Tulane

Nicholls football lost to its second FBS opponent in three weeks on Saturday night, as the Colonels (0-3) fell to Tulane (3-1) in Week 4, 36-7.

Miscues defined the night for Nicholls, starting on its first offensive drive. After the Green Wave forced a punt, the snap from Elijah Reames went over the head of punter Kylan Dupre. While Dupre recovered the loose ball and managed to punt, it was a short, wobbly kick that Tulane special teamer Shi'Keem Laister returned for a touchdown.

The Colonels struggled with turnovers Saturday, as sophomore quarterback Pat McQuaide threw four interceptions. The first three gave the Green Wave a short field and led to a Tulane touchdown, while the fourth came after driving into the red zone.

Nicholls managed to break the shutout in the final minutes of the first half, when McQuaide found sophomore receiver Neno Lemay for a 13-yard score, the first Colonels touchdown since Week 1 against Sacramento State. However, that would be the only Colonels score on Saturday. While the defense, led by two interceptions from junior Markeyvrick Eddie, improved as the game went on, the deficit was too much to overcome.
