Last weekend's Indiana football game against Akron was a nail-biter.
The Hoosiers prevailed in four overtimes against Akron, 29-27. Next up for IU is an undefeated Maryland team (4-0) that is coming off a 31-9 loss to Michigan State.

Still, Maryland 37, Indiana 3.
End 3Q: Maryland 37, Indiana 3
Only 15 minutes more.
7:08 left 3Q: It's a rout, go mow the lawn.
A 46-yard completion on 3rd-and-19 sets up a 3-yard touchdown pass from Taulia Tagovailoa to Dylan Wade. Maryland 37, Indiana 3.
IU had Maryland 3rd-and-19, dropped eight in coverage and still allowed a conversion all the way to the 3-yard-line. Been that kind of day. #iufb

11:23 left 3Q: Terps tack on three
IU's defense holds, a nice play by Noah Pierre on third down is worthy of note. Maryland settles for 44-yard field goal. Maryland 30, Indiana 3.
13:37 left 3Q: IU fake punt comes up one yard short
After a three-and-out, IU lines up to punt, but goes for a fake punt. However, it comes up a yard short and Maryland has the ball on IU's 33-yard line. Maryland 27, Indiana 3.
HALFTIME: Maryland 27, Indiana 3
Tayven Jackson's pass bounces off the hands of Jaylin Lucas and into a Maryland defender's hands for an interception at midfield with 0:13 left in the half.
HALFTIME: Maryland leads IU 27-3. Not much to say that isn't self-evident. #iufb

In 10 quarters vs. Power Five opponents, IU’s offense has generated 20 total points. Just two TDs. #iufb

0:36 left 2Q: A Felton three-pack
Tai Felton gets his third touchdown catch of the half with a 9-yard scoring reception this time. Extra point is shanked. Maryland 27, Indiana 3.
1:02 left 2Q: Maryland sack ends IU drive
On 4th-and-1, the Hoosiers manage to lose 11 yards. After what had been some better drives, both on offense and defense, IU has nothing to show for it and Maryland has the ball at midfield. Maryland 21, Indiana 3.
8:09 left 2Q: IU turns it over on downs deep in Terps territory
After converting one fourth down on a 15-play drive, the Hoosiers go for it again on 4th-and-6 at Maryland's 14-yard line rather than attempt a field goal. Tayven Jackson's pass is incomplete, Maryland ball. Maryland 21, Indiana 3.
IU drive stalls inside the Maryland 20. Hoosiers go for it on fourth down and fail to convert. Terps ball. Best drive of the game ends quietly. #iufb

End 1Q: Maryland 21, Indiana 3
Maryland 21 points.
Indiana 23 yards.
The IU football offense is like watching someone shove a garden rake through a paper shredder.

2:43 left 1Q: Another quick Terps score
This has been a disaster so far for IU's defense. The Hoosiers can't stop a nosebleed and look allergic to tackling as Taulia Tagovailoa runs 19 yards untouched (and unbothered) for another score. Maryland 21, Indiana 3.
Touchdown Maryland. Tagovailoa rushes in from 19 yards out. Total system failure in all three phases for Indiana so far. #iufb
— Zach Osterman (@ZachOsterman) September 30, 2023
5:34 left 1Q: Another busted coverage for IU
After the teams trade punts, Taulia Tagovailoa needs just one throw to extend Maryland's lead, hitting Tai Felton for a 29-yard score without a Hoosier defender in sight. Maryland 14, Indiana 3.
9:54 left 1Q: Jaylin Lucas return jumpstarts IU
The dynamic return man brings the kickoff to the Maryland 39-yard line, and a few Tayven Jackson-to-Trey Walker passes and some hard running from Christian Turner puts the Hoosiers all the way down inside Maryland's 6-yard line. But again, IU's offense can't gain a hard yard when it's needed and settles for a 25-yard field goal from Chris Freeman. Maryland 7, Indiana 3.
14:35 left 1Q: IU's defense lays down on first drive
It took Maryland all of three plays and less than 30 seconds to score a touchdown on IU's defense. Taulia Tagovailoa completed a 62-yard pass on a busted coverage on the first play and then hit Tai Felton for a 13-yard score two plays later. Maryland 7, Indiana 0.
