NICK BROMBERG: Group E is still very much up for grabs after the United States 1-1 tie with the Netherlands on Wednesday night. The US dominated the second half after trailing early and tied the game on Lindsey Horan's goal in the second minute off a corner kick. Horan scored on a header while running to the near post to tie the game minutes after she was tackled hard by her club teammate Danielle van de Donk. van der Donk's hip check knocked Horan to the ground, and the US captain had to receive treatment on the field from the training staff.

Before the corner was even kicked, Horan and her Lyon teammate had to be separated by the referee after a discussion. The US trailed in the 17th minute after a couple mistakes led to a goal on the Netherlands first shot of the game by Jill Roord. The Netherlands was able to break towards goal after a defensive lapse in midfield, and then no one stepped up to challenge Roord's shot.

The game flipped in the second half as Rose Lavelle came on at half time, and Netherlands defender Stephanie van der Gragt was subbed off because of an apparent injury. The US had a ton of attacking chances in the final 45 minutes, but could not get a second goal as the Dutch's first shot of the half came all the way in the 80th minute. It was blocked away from goal by Julie Ertz.

The tie means both the Netherlands and the US have four points through two games and the group win could come down to goal difference if both teams win their final group game as heavy favorites. The US currently leads the Netherlands by 2 in goal differential ahead of its game against Portugal early Tuesday morning, while the Netherlands will play Vietnam at the same time.
