Liam Thorpe pulls down his first Power Five offer from Rutgers football

Class of 2025 wide receiver Liam Thorpe was offered by Rutgers football on Thursday night.

A 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver from The Hun School (Princeton, N.J.), Thorpe has also been offered by Hawaii, UPenn and Princeton. Last season as a sophomore he had 19 catches for 592 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

According to 247Sports, he is a three-star athlete and is ranked the No. 14 player in New Jersey.

This weekend is a big recruiting weekend for Rutgers football with an event on Friday where a number of top prospects from the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes set to take unofficial visits to the Big Ten program. The majority of athletes set to attend the event are from the tristate area.

After spending time on the Rutgers campus, Thorpe tweeted about the offer on Thursday:

Recruiting is clearly on an uptick for Rutgers in the 2024 recruiting class. Over the past month, the program has received commitments from three recruits ranked as a four-star at their respective positions.
