Pitcher Levi Stoudt came to the Cincinnati Reds with infielders Noelvi Marte and Edwin Arroyo and fellow righty Andrew Moore in a 2022 trade with the Mariners that brought Luis Castillo to Seattle.

The Mariners claimed Stoudt off waivers last week after he'd been designated for assignment by the Reds.

Stoudt, who posted a 9.58 ERA and 2.323 WHIP in four appearances last season for the Reds, shared some thoughts about the direction and philosophy he experienced in the Cincinnati organization, per Seattletimes.com's Ryan Divish, and they weren't flattering.

"It was different," Stoudt said, per Divish. "It was a little bit of I'd say lack of direction, in my sense. It was kind of not much of a philosophy. It was kind of just go play baseball and we'll help you along the way."

Stoudt posted a 6.23 ERA and 1.664 WHIP in 25 appearances, including 19 starts, with the Triple-A Louisville Bats last season.

The Reds face Seattle in a split-squad game February 26, and another split-squad game March 16. Seattle hosts Cincinnati near the end of spring training, on March 21. During the regular season, the Reds are scheduled to visit Seattle for three games April 15-17.
