LeBron James has right foot tendon injury, will be out at least three weeks

If the Los Angeles Lakers are going to make the NBA playoffs this season, a good chunk of the work toward that goal will have to be done without their franchise player.

LeBron James suffered a right foot injury during the second half of Sunday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks. He said he heard a pop right after sustaining the injury, although there was a report he had initially suffered it back in January.

Over the last few days, James has reportedly been getting multiple opinions on his injured foot from multiple doctors.

On Thursday, the Lakers made an official announcement regarding the nature of his injury and his prognosis.

Keep in mind that even if James is cleared when he’s reevaluated in three weeks, it would likely take him some additional days to actually return to game action.

That could place his earliest possible return near the end of March.
