LeBron James is already passing Lakers legends after just 25 games
It’s only been 25 games, but LeBron James has already been better than some Los Angeles Lakers legends. No player has scored more points than James during their first 25 games with the team.
Thus far, James has been a better scorer than both Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Shaquille O’Neal in his first 25 games with the Lakers.

James is averaging 28.7 points per game this season. That’s not even James’ best performance in that category. He averaged 31.4 points during his third year in the league.
While impressive, James’ excellent offensive numbers in 25 games means little. The Lakers didn’t sign him to score more points than other legendary Lakers. They signed him to win championships.
The Lakers have been much improved under James this season. After going 35-47 last year, James and the Lakers are off to a 15-10 start.
