Headlines

Playoff push

We are two-thirds of the way through the regular season, which means the push for the playoffs is on.

In Division 4, Adrian has the second-most playoff points with 57 behind Paw Paw's 58.233, while Tecumseh's 32.167 is .533 points outside of the playoff picture.

In Division 7, Clinton has 39.200 playoff points, fifth overall with nearby Jackson Lumen Christi leading at 55.767 and Napoleon fourth (40.433). Blissfield is 19th and is good playoff position.

In Division 8, Hudson is second with 40.5 points with Whiteford ahead at 40.548. Addison is seventh with 36.6 points. Sand Creek is the first team out of the playoffs with 20.262 points, 1.738 points behind Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes.

Lenawee Christian is the top team in Division 2 8-Man with 33.5 points, while Britton Deerfield is outside with 20.833 points, 2.167 behind Crystall Falls Forest Park.

Three-headed monster

Clinton's depth at running back was on full display as three different backs went over 100 yards rushing in the 54-33 win against Dundee.

Nik Shadley led with 143 yards on 13 carries (11 yards per rush), while the bruiser back Jacob Felts went for 133 on 16 carries (8.31 per rush) and Cole Breitenwischer rushed for 111 on 14 carries (7.93 per rush).

Joey Preston added 57 yards on four carries (14.25 per rush).

Still alive for a title

There are plenty of Lenawee County football teams still vying for a conference championship.

Addison will clinch the Cascades Conference West Division and get a spot in the Cascades Conference championship game against either Michigan Center, Napoleon or Manchester.

Hudson and Clinton are still unbeaten in the LCAA, while everyone else has at least two losses.

Adrian needs some help by way of Jackson beating Chelsea while taking care of Pinckney to earn a share of the SEC White title.

Lenawee Christian needs to beat winless North Adams Jerome to set up a Southern Michigan East Division championship game with Pittsford at home in Week 8.
